Talisker Distiller’s Edition 2003-2014
The Talisker Distiller’s Edition (a second maturation on Amoroso sherry) is making a splash on this beautiful spring day. This is a whisky that never fails to deliver. It ticks all the boxes for a pleasant dram, whether it’s warm or cold outside:
Tasting notes
Nose
Gentle and fruity, with sweet apples and cherries, citrus, sea salt and a vague hint of medical peat.
Palate
Juicy and subtle, fruity and salty, ripe apples, red fruits and gentle spices.
Finish
A whiff of soft fruits, maritime notes and gentle peat. It’s subtle, lightly drying, with lots of fruity notes and doesn’t fail to deliver hints of seaweed, gentle pepper and charred meat.
It’s a little bit of everything, and in all the right proportions. Balanced to perfection and bottled at Talisker’s signature 45.8%, this is a must have. We even dare to say that this is the best peated whisky of Diageo’s Distiller’s Edition range. What’s your opinion?
