Tomatin Single Cask 2002-2016 bottled for Bresser & Timmer

Ah, Tomatin, one of my loves. This is a 14yo cask strength single cask bottling, being matured on a re-charred American oak, ex-red wine hogshead.

The combination is delicious. The re-charred wood gives this dram some real pleasant tropical and malty influence, while the red wine makes sweet and spicy.

Tasting notes

Nose

A spicy warmth, red grapes, vanilla, pineapple, red fruits (mainly black berries) and a small hint of charcoal

Palate

The palate is dry and warming, with flavours of raspberry, wood, vanilla, mango, grapes and spices

Finish

The finish starts off with sparkling berry juice and grapes, it’s also deliciously malty, with pineapple, toasted bread and drying wood

Yep, this is another satisfying Tomatin!
