Timorous Beastie by Douglas Laing

To a Mouse

Hey little creature,
What are you doing up there?
So small, but fierce and brave,
And definitely not scared.

Timorous Beastie, I’m truly sorry Man’s dominion, has broken Nature’s social union. I know you have been scared for many, many years, because of what the awful humans did to you, your family and your habitat but now it is time to strike back.

You have been hiding in the dark, waiting for that special moment, years went by, winters so cold, summers full of danger. It is all coming to an end right now. Climb, little boy, reach that top and show yourself to the world.

Here’s what you’ve got in store for us:

Tasting notes

Nose

A bit sweaty on the nose, bananas and earthy notes. Anice, a grassy touch and fresh like New Make. Acrylic resin, (young) orchard fruits and a touch of ham chunks.

Palate

Potatoes, nice oaky flavours and orchard fruits. Some New Make is definitely in there as well, in a good way though.

Finish

A drying finish and the palate lingers on. Aniseed, rice cake and pear. Oaky, grassy and earthy notes are topping it off.

This definitely is a luscious pour, you did all in your power. We think the fresh, sweet and somewhat sourish notes are everyone’s cup of tea and is something you can enjoy any moment of the day. To be completely honest with you, for us it lacks just a little bit of a punch, we know, we are two spoiled boys always craving for more, so we need to put things in perspective. You are a superhero Timorous Beastie, ready to conquer the world and take back what is yours.

A HUGE thank you to the team of @monnikdranken for providing us with such lovely drams this past year, you’ve been an absolute pleasure to work with and we simply cannot wait to go again this year with all of the other #dmdflavourmakers Thank you for this opportunity!
