Signatory Vintage – Edradour 10yo #320

Sometimes you just need a good and affordable sherry matured sipper. This is a 10yo Edradour, distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2017 by Signatory (cask #320). 46% ABV

Tasting notes

Nose

Great and overwhelming nose, with soft stewed fruits, pears and yellow banana candies (you know them?)

Palate

Creamy, mineral-y, sherry infused wood, strawberry and a distinct taste of iron

Finish

Medium long, metallic, dry fruits, spicy wood and tobacco

At around 50 euros here in the NL, this is a great for your buck whisky. While the nose is great, the palate feels somewhat watered down, but overall it’s a great dram that even reminds me a bit of the GlenDronach Revival, only more subtle. This is an annual bottling by Signatory. The 2008-2018 edition is more fruity and more fresh in taste, with a slight nutty character. Can’t go wrong with this one!
