Edradour Ballechin SFTC 12yo Heavily Peated Bordeaux Cask 2007-2019

It’s an open secret that I (Dion) am really digging into the wine-casks lately, I personally think that a Cabernet Sauvignon, or a nice Malbec is the next best thing. But don’t worry, whisky was my first love, and it will be my last. I promise you that.

That explains that a combination between both whisky and wine piqued my interest. You see, I couldn’t resist this Ballechin Straight From The Cask 12 years old, Heavily Peated Bordeaux Cask Matured. I just couldn’t, even if I would.

Opening this one up, always make me feel like I’m walking around in a beautiful old wine cellar. Moisty stone walls, dusty bottles, a cheese platter is waiting for you upstairs, if you’re lucky. This Ballechin lends itself extremely well for pairing with jerky, old cheese or dried dates.
