Delicious discoveries: Deanston 10yo PX Finish

This Deanston is one of my dearest discoveries of this year. It was recommended to me by the local liquor store owner back in January.

I have the annoying habit of finding the first couple of drams of new whiskies incredible, getting a little bored after a while and looking for something new. Hence the large collection of open bottles…

But not with his one! The sweet and layered taste is right up my alley, every drop gives the exact same experience as the first time I tasted it. I’ve written a post a while ago, so let’s be lazy and just copy this part of it:

Tasting notes

Nose

On the nose it’s sweet and floral, with fruit infused oak and honeyed raisins.

Palate

The palate is syrupy, leathery, oaky, sweet and spicy. Notes of vanilla, honey, stewed red fruits, christmas cake and chocolate coated raisins.

Finish

The stewed fruits and chocolate are slowly fading into a sweet and long, drying finish, ending with spicy wood, vanilla ice cream and raisins.
