Almost nothing more reliable than Ledaig (peated Tobermory). I’ve yet to encounter a Ledaig that I didn’t like. The standard 10yo offers real value for money, but so does this 6yo independent bottling by Van Wees.
It’s distilled in 2010 and bottled at 46%, let’s take a trip to an imaginary garage on the isle of Mull:
Paler than pale
Salty pear, smoked meat, sweet peat smoke and fresh car tires (mmmmm).
Parma ham, malt, pineapple, sweet smoke and burnt rubber. Max Verstappen would be proud!
Super fresh and sweet, with an abundance of pineapple, salty sea breeze, smoke, peaches, vanilla and cured ham.
I’ll never get TIRED with this, especially since it cost me just €30,-. Looking forward to the next Ledaig I’ll add to the cabinet, any suggestions?
