The leaves have fallen and it’s getting colder. The festive season has started! The robins are looking for food in our gardens, and we love to help them a bit. Especially when the robins (or Redbreasts as we roughly translate it from Dutch) look like this.
A bold nose with a nice Irish influence: Copper, biscuits and spicy wood, caramelized apple, cedar wood, vanilla and green apple.
Sweet, dry and warming. Lots of vanilla and dried fruits. The cask strength ABV keeps the flavours together on the palate, but no worries, they’ll be released in the grand finale.
There it comes: raisins, a bourbon-like spiciness, lots of tannines from the oak, sweet layers of cake and cream, orchard fruits, sugar powdered bananas, coconut, peach and warming spices.
I cannot NOT love this dram, this is a truly perfect whiskey to start your festive season with. We wish you a great december month in which many drams will be shared!
