Whenever we get tired looking for easter eggs, we get a little bit naughty and wonder what more the Easter bunny has to offer. We must say, every year it’s at it again. This year it surprised us with this absolute beauty, the Cardhu 16 years old, part of the Diageo Special Releases of 2022. We believe because of its special finish it really is an extraordinary dram.

Cardhu isn’t something we have in abundance but is available in almost every store and bar. We’ve tried some core range expressions and to be honest with you, we were never really blown away by those drams.

Luckily, this special release is something else. Finished on Jamaican rum casks, it tends to have some really special tasting notes. Keep in mind, I (Dion) am not a big fan of whisky and rum marriages but I have no objection when it comes to this stunner. Here’s what we thought of it:
