Arran Sherry Cask Strength

From the very first whisky we were intrigued by Arran, we just can’t get enough of their (mainly) tropical drams. We’ve tried several expressions done by them which start its life at Loch Na Davie, high above their distillery. Surprised by and enjoyed every bottle since the beginning.

They’ve changed their bottle design a while ago and they have done an incredible job in our opinion. The old design wasn’t bad at all, but the new one is even better. It represents craftsmanship and makes the liquid look even tastier than ever.

Take a look at this Arran Sherry Cask Strength, bottled at a lovely 55.8% abv. Doesn’t it look tasty? Without a neck label it instantly looks better and the colour of this dram is something you simply can’t resist. Let’s take a look if it lives up to its expectations:

Tasting notes

Nose

Dark chocolate, cherries, coconut and some tobacco. Strawberry/vanilla cottage cheese with rosehip, paper and apricot on the side.

Palate

Very dry and oaky, red fruits, cherries again with apple, peaches and ginger.

Finish

A dry finish, dark chocolate and walnuts. Gingerbread, green tea, Schwarzwälder Kirsch and very creamy peaches.

This whisky is a perfect example of what you see is what you get. Looking at this bottle surely gives you insight of what it needs to taste like and believe us, it does.
