We’ve got to know a lot of people with the same ‘hobby’ through Instagram. Everyday we are thankful to have gained so many friends in this lovely whisky community. It is a wonderful community to be part of.

One of our friends, whom many of you guys may know, is Torsten Zimmerman (@thewhiskyowl). Whisky-fanatic, enthusiast, connoisseur and ambassador.  Sales director to @thesinglecask, independent bottler @torstenpaulwhisky but, most importantly, an incredibly nice guy to talk to and work with.

We’re wondering if he bleeds whisky when he’s getting another tattoo done, it must be whisky that is running through his veins. Please check out his instagram and his releases (if they’re not sold out already (chances are they might be) because this guy knows what he’s talking about.

We paid him a visit back in 2019 and had such a warm welcome. He poured one whisky after the other and boy we were lucky we traveled by train that night. We got to try his releases amongst many others and were intrigued to say the least.

One of his releases we like to talk about is this Dailuaine 7yo, Bourbon barrel matured with an Ex-Islay Octave finish. You had us at Dailuaine. A pretty 59.3% ABV and an attractive colour. It is all looking good, but what really matters is on the inside, Let’s have a look:

Wow, this might be the top of the bill. Everything checks out. This is what we consider a meal in a bottle. We’ve gone quiet. A tip of the hat to you Torsten, it is very promising what the future holds. Cheers!
