GlenAllachie 10yo

In July this year, the first core range of single malt whiskies from Glenallachie were released to the world. The range features a 10, 12, 18 and 25 years old, all natural colour, non-chill-filtered and bottled at a minimum of 46% ABV.

Thanks to our Instagram friend Herbert, we had the opportunity to taste the whole range. Instead of collecting, he decided to open his bottles right away and gave us the chance to buy samples and photograph his bottles, so we could write a proper post. There are lots of collectors out there who grab dozens of bottles, the people who actually want to enjoy them, miss the boat, or they have to pay ridiculous prices. So a big shoutout to the people who share, discuss and enjoy!

That said, let’s take a look at the entry whisky from the GlenAllachie line-up:

Tasting notes

Nose

Fresh, grassy and lemony, with a subtle barley undertone and ginger.

Palate

Young and tingling, lemon cake and fresh barley.

Finish

Warming wood and barley notes, fresh but slightly sweet, citrus, ginger, honey nut shells and orange juice.

The rest will follow soon!
